It is estimated that more people will be affected by this condition, due to the increasing longevity of our population.

The Alzheimer and Cognitive Disorders Clinic, a division of the McGill University Research Centre for Studies in Aging, was founded in 1997 to establish a clinic that specializes in AD and related disorders.

The Clinic’s primary focus is to seek improved therapies, both symptomatic and preventive, for AD and cognitive disorders; to ensure long-term stabilization for patients; and to enhance the quality of life for patients and caregivers.

The Clinic offers expertise in the early diagnosis and management of AD and cognitive disorders, including vascular dementia and mild cognitive impairment.

Evaluation, treatment, and follow-up are available, as well as referral to other resources, such as help and support services, if desired.

The Clinic is actively involved in cognitive research and is recognized internationally as a clinical trial site. Clinical trials (Phases II-IV) that test the efficacy and safety of experimental drugs for AD and other cognitive disorders are ongoing.

Dr. Serge Gauthier, C.M., C.Q., MD, FRCPC, neurologist, and specialist in the field, leads a team of experienced and dedicated health professionals. Evaluations are carried out in a friendly and inviting atmosphere at a location which is easily accessible.

Further Information

For an appointment with the following doctors:

Dr. Serge Gauthier, C.M., C.Q., MD, FRCPC

Dr. Pedro Rosa-Neto, MD, PhD

Dr. Paolo Vitali, MD, PhD, FRCPC

Stéphane Ledoux, MD

Neurologist, Alzheimer Disease Research Unit
McGill University Research Centre for Studies in Aging
Email: ledouxs@videotron.ca

Simon Ducharme, MD, MSc, FRCP(C)

Neuropsychiatrist, Alzheimer Disease Research Unit
McGill University Research Centre for Studies in Aging
Email: simon.ducharme@mcgill.ca

Dr. Maiya R.
